the other bonus of multirecord is if you are recording 2 shows one after the other you get a buffer on both ends of the show so even if you cant record all frequencies it still a big plus

I got 6 to record at one time but I only let it record a few short minutes as a test. I personally don't have a need for multirecord as I have 2 systems running most of the time. It's very nice though to have this capability.

wait, do you mean that if I am recording 2 shows back-to-back on the SAME channel, I can get padding on both shows?

If it is a digital channel/tuner and you have TS Mux as a multiplexer and have MutiRecord ticked - then Yes.
