I tried to setup GBPVR the last few days. It seems to be the perfect application to replace the old VCR.

First: Playing and tuning and recording etc. with the WinTV applications works fine.

Using GBPVR:
When I play a video file using the PVR-350 TV-out it runs 3(?) seconds and hangs. The overlay smootly dissappears but the video is stucked.
press Back/exit:
On the monitor the menu appears, the TV shows the stucked video.
The second time I try to play a video the TV screen goes black.

Tuning:
I can't get any channel right. Tried Manual add of a few channels, tried changing Channel Source manual. Imported several XML.
The WinTV app tuning works perfect, but uses the frequency (e.g. 175,25MHz) = source channel 5? Can I enter the freq in GBPVR somewhere?

Info:Updated videodirvers, hauppauge drivers and directX
Using GBPVR 0.18l
Playback PVR350, VMR9, tried SBE yes/no

Somebody a clue?

There is a well known issue with the PVR350 drivers and certain motherboard chipsets that can cause this lockup you describe (when using the decoder and OSD). Unfortunately its out of my control and there is nothing I can do about it. Hopefully new drivers in future will fix this issue.

WinTV uses some secret mechanism for setting a specific frequency, but I dont know the details. GB-PVR has to use the Microsoft channel changing API, which unfortunately do allow you to specify a frequency. Instead it uses predefined tables of frequencies based on you country and tuning type. For details see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library....ing.asp

For most users, in most countries, the defaults are fine - but there is a mechanism for entering frequencies into the registry if your broadcaster is transmitting on non-standard channels. Details on this are in the link above.

Buckeye, if I remember correctly, you can somehow change "mode" in wintv2000, change it from "channel mode" to "preset mode" (not sure of the exact terminology here). Then it will use frequencies instead of channels. Thing is I can't remember exactly which menu you change in. Play around a bit and see if you can get it to change. And see if I remember correctly ;-)
