If I select the *.dvd file from Video in GBPVR, it brings up the PCH player for a second & then goes back to the GBPVR menu. (using PCH2 version of mvpmcx2). Is there something else you need to do?

I've been exiting GBPVR & browsing to the Video share using the PCH interface & playing it from there for now.
GBPVR v1.4.7
Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz
4 GB RAM, 160GB system drive
640GB recording drive
PVR-500 - analog cable stations
HDHomeRun - ASTC via antenna
nVidia GeForce 8600GT
1 PCH @ 1080p componenent (was NTSC via composite)
1 PCH @ 1080p HDMI (was component)

It looks like you're share isn't setup right. Take a look at this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=39253

Thanks - wasn't aware that DVD can't be streamed (guess it makes sense since they aren't straight vidoe files).

Sounds like when I create the share in the note as described, they will still show up as files under "Videos" in the GBPVR front end.

Right now I have my DVD rips on the same share as other video files (but seperate from recordings). Should I create a seperate share for DVD's?

I'm not sure if you can play *.dvd files. I play ISO's this way, and it's working great. I also have other files in this share and they play just fine.

The wierd thing is, if I look in the directory on the PC, there is no *.dvd file - just the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS files...

It shows up as <disc name>.dvd in GBPVR under Videos

Then it's probably sub magic Smile. That should work, right?

The DVD file is sub magic indeed. In a VIDEO_TS folder it avoids the question of deciding which file to select.

So if I make the changes to script.cgi as described in the attached thread (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=39253), do I need to change anything in GBPVR's config so I can select it from the appropriate GBPVR menu (sounds like Videos) at the PCH?

No, if you are seeing a .dvd now, you should be set at the server. Rather then testing from the script (which for newer Dummies Guide installations is gbpvr.cgi not script.cgi) I'd suggest setting it up manually via telnet, my bet is you will try this 3 or 4 times before you have that a-ha moment.

Thanks - that's actually how I did it (via telnet first).

While I was in there, I also modified script.cgi so gives something other than "mkdir: cannot create directory" when my wife selects "telnet" from telnet.html after it's been run already.

Actually - is there a reason to have seperate scripts? Sounds like the newer "dummy's" version only has one...
