As a newbie I need help setting up gb pvr in such a way that it wakes up from suspend to record my shows and at the end it goes back to suspend.

When I put it into suspend it wakes up OK but records only about 4 minutes of the show then goes back to sleep, so now I have to keep the computer running all the time.

I am running XP media center with a Hauppauge 1600 card and using the latest drivers. I used the MCE standby tool and set the sleep mode to S3 standby.

Not sure what else to do.

Any help would be appreciated.

What are you using to make it go into suspend mode?

I've used both the MCE remote button and the program Slimm GB-PVR to suspend the computer.

I just use the windows power options to go into standby when the machine idle and it works fine. Why don't you try that?

I was having the same problem with Vista - it would wake up for exactly 6 mins the go back to sleep. I think the problem was that the recording service was using so little resources that the computer thought it was idle!
I think the problem was resolved when I put on gbpvrwake.exe, wake.cmd and fullresume.exe (see wiki on how to setup) this was enough to keep the computer going till after the recording or epg update had finished.
Otherwise it was installing startpvrx2
Definately one or the other!

I'm sure sub makes sure Windows gets "keep awake" requests when it is recording.
I have minimal activity when recording DVB channels and I've never had it go to sleep when recording.
