mc2xml doesn't work

For a few months now, I've just been entering all of my scheduled recordings manually, but I'm trying now to get the TV Guide working, so far with no luck. I found mc2xml on other threads, and I'm following the instructions on http://mc2xml.110mb.com/ to the letter (I'm only leaving out the optional step #2 because I don't understand it), but still it makes no difference. The TV Guide still says "(no show details)" for everything.

I'm just using broadcast tv, if that makes any difference, using a Pinnacle 801e and a Hauppauge 850. Is there any way to get it working?

Do you see your channels listed in the config app capture source settings? Are they enabled?

Try using -f switch (force re-download) and check if *.xml has any data.

Ok, that was kinda-sorta the problem. I didn't realize that I needed to identify each channel discovered with a channel in the xml file. It was kind of confusing me at first, but I just removed and re-added the tuners in the "Capture Source" section, and now it's working.
