based on what you describe, I'm back to my original theory from post 5 - your STB is waiting for more digits to be sent, or for the enter/ok button... after 5 seconds it gives up waiting and changes the channel. so you need to look into how to get the blaster to send an enter or ok after the digits (or possibly pad the digits with leading zeros)... this may be done in a config file, or may be done with additional characters in the blaster command line.

Unfortunately as I don't actually use a blaster we've reached the limit of my help; hopefully someone else can jump in now that we've got the problem nailed down.

actually, this tidbit from sub may point you in the right direction:
Quote:HaupBlast.exe is just a tiny utility that tells the Hauppauge software to send a specific channel number. The Hauppauge BlastCfg app determines which IR signals are sent, and whether it sends 'enter', and any delays or timing info.

GB-PVR's HaupBlast has no real control over the process. The only things you can tweak are those settings that Hauppauge make available in this BlastCfg app.
(emphasis added)

so it appears you need to be looking at the BlastCfg app provided by hauppauge

Thinking more about it you're probably right because I remember during the ir config when I tested the stb by powering it off the action was immediate. It was only when I changed channels was there a delay. I'll look over your suggestion and see what I can do. Thanks.

Edit: I tried enabling the "Send 'Enter' after channel" capability in the IR configuration but it gave me an error saying the current code set doesn't support it.
