I've finally found a bit of quiet time in my day job, and have been trying to catch up on stuff. I've tested several recordings on C4 today, and they seem to be playing back smoothly for me. If you're still having the problem, is it certain times of the day, or certain shows, or every recording on C4?
My friend and I were both having massive problems with Battlestar Galactica jumping, skipping to the end and stalling when playing through GBpvr Via your TSreader. It was basically unwatchable in GBpvr going back a several months or so, Odd thing the start of the series recording were fine, as are the very latest ones. We both record off Waitarua with HVR2200s. Also we both have your latest patch files installed, including your last TSreader.
We had to resort to playing BSG in WMP using CyberLink Demux (PDVD9) which handled the TS files much more gracefully, with just a minor video gitch occassionally visible on the bad spots in the TS, Otherwise playback via CyberLink Demux (PDVD9) was silky smooth.
Its a bit of a pain to leave GBpvr and crank up WMP though.
Canwest were definitely doing strange things on C4, or maybe they just dropped thier TX power to low.
[quote=sub]Are you guys still having this issue with C4?
Yup sure are. May sound a little strange but the most sure fire point of failure (for me at least) is during the ad break transitions. When the final ad in a sequence finishes ( grey brackground with the shows name stated on screen)
the picture freezes whilst audio continues.
Have decided to undertake a full re-install over the weekend (both windows and GB-PVR) in a somewhat vain attempt to establish once and for all if this is a reception issue as opposed to a problem with my setup.
Sure am - have gone back to Analog as primary source for the time being.
I was also wondering why the graph for C4 shows multiple audio pins coming out of MP2 Demuxer through various filters to "Default Sound Renderer 01/02/03/etc...." when I am only interested in the AAC stream, and why the C4 (AC3) channel gives no audio at all, when the TV3 (AC3) channel plays fine.

As asked above, is there more info you can give me to help reproduce it here? ie, certain shows or times? Basically I need to be able to reproduce the problem here to be able to fix it. I've tried but been unable to so far. The shows that are on during the day when I'm working may not be the shows exhibiting the problem though.

This is normal. Its so it can switch between the various types of audio when in live tv, without having to stop the graph and rebuild it with different decoders. You'll notice that only one audio pin is mapped with the demux though, so only one audio decoder is ever being feed data.

without fail my recordings of "The Daily Show" (evening screening) are a complete mess. Come to think of it however, watching live tv DURING THE DAY does not cause me nearly as many problems
In have just put the HVR900 stick back in the media PC and tried to watch the C4 Michael Jackson Video Hits programme. The symptoms I get are as follows.
Live TV - after a few seconds the picture micro-freezes and stutters. Then after a few seconds more it seems to settle down a bit with only the occasional stutter. Then after an indeterminate time either the audio starts to stutter really badly, or the picture freezes but the audio carries on. So I tried timeshift mode.
Timeshift mode - it seems to play more smoothly than Live TV until suddenly it freezes. This seemed to happen consistently at the end/start of each music video (strange), but randomly at other times during the track too. At first it seemed the player had gone on Pause - e.g. if I press Play it resumes. After doing this several times though, eventually video and audio freezes completely and I have to press Stop or exit GBPVR (i.e. the computer is still responsive, it's only C4 playback that's frozen). So then I tried recording the current programme.
Record current programme and play back - after a few seconds the picture freezes although the audio carries on. It records this state too, so on subsequent playback the picture freezes at the same place.
I live in Lower Hutt so don't have direct line of sight to KauKau. I'm using a roof aerial with splitters, so signal quality could possibly be an issue. Having said that, TV1/2/3 seem to play and record fine - it only seems to be only C4 that give these problem.
