a lot of the issues i am having are after the channel changing. I've attached more logs from recent issues.

also, this may or may not be a contributing factor but, my OS says that the USB device (hdpvr) may run faster if connected to a Hi speed usb port. but all the ports on my PC are Hi speed USB 2.0, and I'm running SP3.

hi sub,

wondering if you had a chance to take a look at the logs. I know you are busy and i don't want to eat into your family time...:-)

thanks.

I did take a look at the logs, but nothing really stood out as the cause. Sorry.

Might be worth investigating that USB warning though. It does sound like its running on a slow USB port.

I seem to remember I have had this problem with the front ports that are connected by cables, the ports on the back (connected directly to the motherboard) work as usb2 but the front ones seem to revert to usb1......I am fairly sure there is a difference in the cabling for usb2.

i know my mb has usb 2.0, based on hardware specs on the box. also, the BIOS has USB 2.0 high speed enabled - so am not sure where this is coming from.

i'm removing all registry entries for hdpvr/hauppauge and trying again.

sub, all,

I'm giving up on hd-pvr.. I've spent many sleepless night trying to get this to work and this weekend was the last straw. i'm returning the device and instead will be using the s-video port of the ATI 650 PCIE card for the cable box. Granted, it is not High-Def.. but, it will have to do for now.
