Right I have carried out the following which I believe nearly fixes everything.

1. Checked that the buffer directory is there and being written to.
2. Ran ReRegisterFilters.bat
3. Reinstalled klcodec.

The combination of the above appear to have resolved most issues. The only outstanding one is buffering of recordnings.

I am sure that the PCH used to display the buffering screen when you played a recording where as now within half a second or so the program is displayed.

The PCH does display the buffering screen when using the Video Library and see why this wouldnt be any different to recordings.

The only other reason I query this and it's not a major issue is that I used to be able to watch recording on my wireless laptop but now it stutters again I am assuming this is because of the lack of buffering.

Can you confirm if the buffering screen should be displayed on the PCH when playing recordings.

thanks Steve

The buffering message was the PCH buffering stuff, so this has nothing to do with your laptop stuttering. (although there may well be a hidden buffer with gbpvr)

I haven't seen that PCH buffering screen since Martin and sub updated to pch2 mode where mvpmcx2 plays the recording directly rather than using the pch software to do te playing.

The buffering message comes from the NMT player which is no longer used in PCH2 mode. It does use a bigger buffer and on top of that it uses more efficient file access and it would no doubt work better over wireless so you probably probably need to downgrade. Alternatively you can use the USB Eject key to select files and it will use the NMT player. The reason you see buffering messages is because the NMT player is still used for non-mpeg files.

In general PCH mode is not supported and frankly I don't support wireless either. I've found the majority of people who use wireless with SD have had some stuttering problems and with HD even with the best wireless bridges, users can have such serious problems that I don't even consider it. For mvpmcx2 even the UI demands a high performance network so increasing the buffers isn't something I would consider.

Sorry little confussion crept in here.

PCH is wired so working fine, just didnt notice the buffer messgae had disappeared when upgraded to mvpmcx2

Wireless laptop is the only issue that used to work but no big deal if cant be fixed.

Great that's clearer. I think you will like PCH2 mode too.

thanks will look into that, although pressing 3 or 4 then next is pretty easy to skip the adverts.
