The card isn't bad. The audio didn't work in WinTV 6 or Windows 7 Media Center.

Perhaps I missed a key detail - what makes you sure that it isn't bad -that it worked previously in XP? Regardless, if it won't work in WinTV 6 or Windows 7 Media Center, it's time to call the manufacturer.

If it worked fine in XP, and the only difference is the operating system and drivers, then I seriously doubt the card is physically bad.

That makes sense, but it wouldn't be the first time that something electrical physically died on me at an inconvenient time, leaving me chasing software OS ghosts and wild geese drivers, when what I really needed was a soldering iron. Smile

Just for the hell of it, I am going to install Win7 32-bit RTM just to see if the problem is 64-bit related which I currently believe is the case. I will report back after the install. First I will make a copy of this install with gParted so I can easily go back to what I have now.

Just so you know I wasn't able to get my 1600's working right in W7 X64 either although my problems were different. Sub said he has a new version of GB-PVR coming out with some fixes for it, perhaps it will solve your problems too.

I don't think a new version of GBPVR will fix it as I had the same problem in Windows 7 Media center and WinTV 6.

Getting ready to install Win7 32-bit shortly.

Well Windows 7 32-bit RTM didn't resolve the issue. I did get an e-mail from Hauppauge and they say it is more than likely a driver issue. Why they advertise the current driver as being Windows 7 compatible is silly.

Here are the latest logs...

Currently, I'm running my HVR1600 on Vista32. Thanks for the update, as I was considering a switch to W7. Sounds like I should stay where I am. If anyone gets an HVR1600 running on W7, I'm sure we would all appreciate a report on that success.
