Used MPG2Cut2.

Slightly different behaviour with this shorter file, instead of jumping to after the bad part GB-PVR just returns to the main menu. Again, VLC plays the file ok.

I'd prefer to see the original behaviour if possible, so maybe try a bit bigger time before and after the bit in question.

I had similar problems when I recorded .ts files (missing sections of files which playback as if in fast forward). I went back to dvr-ms and don't have these problems (same shows, same recording source (QAM), in dvr-ms most of my recordings have been flawless.

I think that's just because the file is shorter, so when the glitch occurs it reaches the end of the file before it comes to it's senses. I've had some recordings where the glitch happens near the end of a show so that if I do nothing, it will freeze and then return to the menu... the only way to catch the end of the show is to note the point on the time line where the glitch occurs, then use the skip buttons to approach and then skip past the glitch.

This bigger cut causes a jump from 5.28 to 5.46 in GB-PVR, ok in VLC.

McBainUK, I looked at your file with a nice utility called mpeg2repair and it didn't see any errrors, and it is a good quality sample. Playing it on the PCH for over a minute jumping four minutes to your trouble spot showed no issues where you mentioned in fact the information that sub and I exchange confirm that it is high quality and very solid.

Thanks. I didnt notice anything happen between 5.28 to 5.46.

To make sure I'm looking at the right bit, how long does the recording say it is? and what scene is happening in the show at the time the problem occurs?

GB-PVR reports it's length as 00:08:25. See the link below for some named screen grabs showing the related scenes. Thanks again for taking time to look at this.

Could it be a horsepower issue? I suffered something similar but I found that it went away once I'd upgraded from a low-power 1.86GHz Pentium M to a 2.6GHz dual-core AMD X2 4850e. I had to re-install the OS which might have helped - even though the machine has only ever been used as a PVR, it probably helped get rid of a lot of the rubbish that's accumulated over four years - old codecs and stuff...
- Silent client PVR: HDPlex HS.1 aluminium fanless case / Thin-ITX ASRock H81TM-ITX motherboard / Intel Celeron 1850T CPU / 4GB RAM / 120GB SSD / TBS6982 DBS-S2 [SIZE=1]dual-tuner card / Win10+nPVR+Plex Media Player feeding LG OLED55B6V + Anthem MRX510 AV Receiver / PMC GB1 / B&W / REL speakers.
- Noisy NAS: Xeon / Intel mobo / 16GB RAM / FreeNAS + Ubuntu VMs on VMware ESXi + 12TB RAID

Those scenes on my PCH and in MPC HC seem to be right around 4:39 when it fades to black, the your missing city scenes show and then a few seconds later it is in the kitchen.
