I wanted a high WAF, and I am not sure this is the right path.
I think the work done in Gbpvr and the NMT integration is fenominal!
Im just the 1% group that come from a country where subtitles are a must.
I have the exact same home country, setup and crushed dream Sad

Check http://www.recordere.dk/forum/forum_post...7098&TPN=2 - scroll down to second-last post from spawn -> "Der er mig bekendt ingen [mediesteamers] der understøtter DVB-subs" [AFAIK no mediastreamser support DVB-subs] Sad

Only viable way seems to be setting up a client pc. Luckily the market is finally launching several candidates for small, silent high-WAF units like the ASUS EeeBox EB1501, AsRock ION 330 (check recordere.dk - several client discussions), but like you I was hoping for a good, quick, easy solution like the NMT - its' so depressing that the dealbreaker is lacking DVB subtible support.

One option (I'm looking for others) I mentioned earlier is to post process the files

If you get vlc 0.8.6a the following command line will create a file with the subtiles in the image

Code:
vlc.exe -I dummy --dummy-quiet "input.ts" :sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp2v,vb=3072,scale=1,soverlay}:duplicate{dst=std{access= file,mux=ts,dst="output.ts"}} :sout-all vlc://quit

Does it have to be that spesific version or will a newer version do?

That specific version. I suggest downloading the 7z version and manually installing it to keep the newer versions for normal playback. Here's the link to the ftp archive.

Thanks, I'll test it and report back this weekend.

If this works and can be automated to run after each recording, I will probably take the plunge and finally go digital .. Great!

Looking forward to hear how your testing turns out Reddwarf. If you could test it using postprocessing.bat and check whether comskip still works that would be really really great!

If anyone can post a 5 minute SD mpeg-ts sample with subtitles in it on megaupload I will convert it and upload a copy with subtitles overlaid so others can test themselves.

Just returned from UK today, I didn't manage to test it before I left, I'll have a look at it later this week.

Martin

I'v tested it both on a SD-recording with teletext subtitles and a HD-recording with DVB subtitles but with no success. A SD-sample can be found here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W5PPEHUA

Martin: can you let me know when you have downloaded it so I can delete it and upload the HD-sample (I'v got only 200kb on Megaupload).

Sub: I cannot get GBPVR to display the teletext subtitles, but the dvb-subtitles show up, can you have a look at it?
