I was trying to follow the Wiki to set up IR Server Suite to blast, but there is no C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite\IR Blast\ directory, so no C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite\IR Blast\IRBlast.exe

Is my installation of IR Sierver Suite mucked up?

I think the Wiki refers to an older version of IRSS. If you have newer version IRBlast.exe resides in C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite with no sub directory

alternatively use IRBlast-NoWindow.exe which won't call up a command window.

I thought I looked in all the subdirectories under IR Server Suite and didn't find it. I will look again.

I checked the IRSS wiki and found how to use the translator to blast. It works, but the system is unstable. I will keep fiddling until I get it stable. Or I will just give up and use the native MCE hardware support like I was before. WAF is below 0 att.

What do you mean by unstable? More info? You have IRSS working with GBPVR? What is unstability?

Application locks up. Have to bring up task manager to kill it. I think I figured out how to avoid it.

Maybe I failed to install something when I installed IRSS, but there is no IrBlast.exe anywhere. Translator will work for now.

Will continue working on the WAF.

Look again. Maybe I wasn't clear, IRBlast used to be in a sub directory of IRSS, the last 2 revisions or so have moved it up a directory, it now just lives in the IRSS folder. NO sub directory.

If it is not there then definitely you missed something on the install. Which v of IRSS did you get hold of?

Hi I am trying to get the IR Server to work with new gbpvr installation running on Windows 7 Home Premium
Am having the same problem ... cannot find the IR Blast.exe file anywhere
Was using my older version 1.4.2.1711 (which has the IR Blast.exe file) from my old XP Pro machine but it does not seem to work that's why I tried to switch to this newer 1.4.2.3158

Maybe I am missing something ?

I don't think you are missing anything. I don't think Irblast.exe is included in 1.4.2.

But translator works just fine for me now. I had to relearn some of the channels and fiddle with the ir bud to get it positioned correctly, but I am getting consistent channel changes.

If translator is not already running, Right mouse click on the IRServerSuite icon in the tray and select "Translator". Right mouse click on the translator icon and select "setup". Click on the "IR Commands" tab and select "New". In the "Name" box, type the number 1. Click on the "learn" button, then press the 1 key on the remote for your STB two or three or four times until the box at the bottom of that dialog has green text indicating it has learned the code. Make it learn all the numbers 1 - 9 and 0. After learning all the numbers, check the checkbox at the bottom of the Translator dialog box that says "Start Translator with Windows". Then set up GBPVR like the GBPVR IRServerSuite wiki says, except instead of “C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite\IR Blast\IRBlast.exe” or “\C:\Program Files\IR Server SuiteIR Blast\IRBlast-NoWindow.exe” you want to use
"C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite\Translator.exe" -channel [Number] [Padding] [Port] [Delay]
Use the quotes as they appear in that command. Change [Number] to [c] and use your own numbers for Padding (3 if your STB only goes up to three digits, 4 if it has four digit channels), Port (1, 2, or Both), and delay in milliseconds (I use 150). No quotes or brackets around any of the parameters except the [c]. My command looks like this
"C:\Program Files\IR Server Suite\Translator.exe" -channel [c] 3 1 150

I've been using IRSS for a long time. Irblast has always been included but there have been some changes. I'm currently running v1.4.2.3136, didn't know there was a new version out there so thanks for the heads up!

I think you'll find that the installer package has changed, on the install you must select 'command line tools' as an install option. Irblast.exe is a command line tool. I think you'll still find this in .3158 Wink

IRSS is a very stable and well written installer so if you are mssing this just run the installer package again and add as above.

Thanks though, Wiki may need to be changed to update, will check it out.

Cheers
