I just read this thread and now am exhausted.
I am going to make a radical suggestion here.
1) Either make a backup of your system, then format and reinstall windows and then Video Drivers. It seems like something in this department is not working as it should, and seems to be corrup. The x1250 should not be outperforming the 4350.
2) The easier and less painful would be to find a back hard drive and resinstall windows and video drivers. This will give you a decent understanding of whether it is a hardware or sofware problem.
Just my recommendations this is how i test my new hardware before implementatioin, i happen to have a spare HDD though and make this easy to do. It has also mitigated much frustration when things dont go as planned
