I have searched these forums and tried various different solutions.
Here is the configuration:
Server in Windows Vista 64--I can watch and record Live TV and EPG gets updated. All Tuners are configured correctly 5 digital and one analog. 4 Tuners are dual Tuner HDHomeruns and the 5th is Hauppage 1600 Digital and 6th is Hauppage Analog. Windows firewall is disabled on both (which I hate-but I am savvy enough to create a firewall rule that would allow all ports opened only within my subnet). I have set up a QoS rule also on my router stating same all ports opened but only within my subnet.
GBPVR is being shared with permissions for everyone and full control. I have set up GBPVR recording service set up with a administrative logon on account on the server. I can from the client modify the stop bat file and see it saved with the changes on the server. I have created test.txt files on each of the GBPvr subfolders from the client on the Server and I am able to delete them without any problems from the client. I have another program TVersity that I can share all the recordings/shows/movies without any file-sharing issues. Hence why I don't understand how come GBPvr is not as friendly
From the Client I can setup recordings and view them. I can access the video, music, and photo library on the server via the GBPVR menu and play the different movies, photos and songs.
From the Client I can update the EPG on the server via the System tab selection. I am using a schedules direct account for my EPG source. Yet for some reason I am unable to watch Live TV either via the guide and selecting a show by clicking "watch now" option or the LiveTV option on the main menu from the client. I have set the delay to 6000ms.
I am thinking I may something incorrect in the server configuration. Because when I set up my client as a standalone server I can view liveTV, record, and schedule shows without any problems. The LiveTV issue only happens when I try to do client server relationship. I have TSMux with multiple recording enabled on both the server and the client.
Been playing with this for about a month and half and I literally don't have any hair left. In case one of the subs is wondering: the reason why I went with Vista 64 is as follows I wanted to have a computer with enough memory that could handle a large video sharing since I have five kids and four grandkids living in the home. I have a gig network throughout the house and it is wired not wireless.
Enclosed please find client and server files. Sorry for being wordy!
