Cannot play .ts and.mpg but plays .avi fine

Sub, I am trying out the npvr and have been setting up the device and completed a channel scan successfully. However I get no picture watching Live TV. I can also not play mpg files at all but avi files plays just fine. The logs gives me the message "Unable to find named decoder".

I guess I am missing some vital filter or decoder registration/installation but cannot understand what.

I am running an XP machine with VMR9.

What decoders do you have selected on the Decoders screen?

Nothing!!! I had not made any selections in the decoder section cos I guess I assumed that they all were set to "system default" as in GBPVR but I was wrong. Changing the MPEG2 Video to the "InterVideo NonCSS VIdeo Decoder for Hauppauge" made it work.

I guess I also thought that NPVR was playing the ts files without the need for externa MPG2 decoder?

Anyway it works now, so I will continue testing.
