System Plugin for nPVR - Early Beta

What changes needs to be done to the Blue Retro+ skin to make this plugin work with it? I like this plugin, but I'd like to use the Blue Retro...

Just copy over the System folder from Skin\Default\System - then it should work.

My priority so far has just been to get the basic functionality working (it's my first ever plugin and I'm still learning). I haven't given much thought to the skin. Thankfully Hairy has started working on a version of it for Wave (my favourite skin) although I've yet to have a look at it.

Copy the System dir from NPVR\Skin\Default into the NPVR\Skin\Blue Retro+ skin dir.

I am about to start doing a BlueRetroVE+ skin for it today & I have an update of the main "+" skin basically ready to go so I will be posting it in a day or two.....but copying the default skin will work in the mean time.

At the moment the colours used to draw the disk-full bars are hard coded into the method that draws them. I assume (for skinning purposes) it'd be better to allow you to define them in the xml. Therefore, (if I can work out how), I'll get the code to look for these three values and use them instead:

ChartOutline
ChartGradientLeft
ChartGradientRight

The fill is a simple gradient fill from left to right, currently (0, 35, 55) on the left through to (190, 190, 120) on the right (that's in 0 to 255 colour values). The outline is white.

For me, it would be handy to be able to customize the grads and outline in the skin.xml. As far as I know sub uses just a two step gradient, I think something similar would be fine.

Also let me know if you've got any suggestions for the wave skin.

I've made a bit more progress with the EPG update this evening (seems it has to be run in a separate thread to stop it hanging NPVR, although it doesn't like recording while it's happening). The messages I get back from NPVR while it's going on are split over two lines, eg:

"Tuning somethingorother blah blah..."
"20 seconds remaining"

So we'll have to take that account in the skin(s), either making the status box larger, or perhaps just replacing the pending/recording message during an EPG update. What do people think?

Yep I second that as for my skin I would just like to use the old red for used space green for free space as I think it is easier to see at a quick glance.

Not quite sure I follow you on this. The chart is currently an outline, with the fill (for used space) being a gradient from its left edge to right edge. The free space area is not painted at all.

Is it something else you have in mind? I'm more than open to suggestions...

It was late at night & I wasn't in the best frame of mind yesterday so don't worry about it to much, having control over the gradient fill & outline in the skin will be fine.

One thing I did want to do was put each chart & associated text in it's own background instead of a background for the whole lot but I can't think of any way to do it as it stands.
