Delete the existing mdplugin directories, run nextpvr.exe -emptydb, and do the setup I mentioned above (scanning on one, copying to the other), making sure you set CI to multidec and instances to at least 1, then ok out of the settings screen, then go back to settings -> devices again, then zip and attach the npvr.log file.

Here it is.

Can you zip and attach your npvr.db3 file?

I cant see any obvious reason there, but did you try manually creating the directory? ie, in "Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA DVBT Tuner #1-1", the "#1" is the device instance, the "-1" multidec instance. So, you'd need to manually create the same name but with "#2" instead of "#1". You'd also typically need to configure your multidec plugin for different newcs login etc.

To me it appears that NPVR still does not completely distinguish the tuners. I mentioned MDPlugins directories just to give a hint. I do not think it is directly related to MDAPI.

For example:
I start recording encrypted channel A on an encrypted transponder and it is recording OK. Then I simultaneously with channel A start recording unencrypted channel B on another transponder and the error pops up. However, I can watch unencrypted channel B with no problem while recording channel A.

The status window clearly indicates that both tuners are in use in the last case.

It has to be related with priority of the tuners, which I presume is reversed for Live TV and recording?

I'm thinking its more likely to be related to MDAPI.

From the TV Guide if you schedule two recordings for channels on different frequencies, do you end up with two non-zero byte files? (even if they're encrypted and cant be played)

I can not schedule two simultaneous recordings on different frequencies, because of the error: "No tuner available for this recording", when I try to schedule the second one.

This really sounds like you dont have your channels setup correctly, since it doesnt even look at the tuners at scheduling time.

Zip and attach your npvr.db3, and the name of two shows (and channel/time) that you cant schedule at the same time, and I'll try it here with your database. I'll be able to tell why it's not allowing these to be scheduled. I'm ahead of your timezone though, so pick a time a few days in the future for convenience.
