I get the NPVR menu ok on the PCH but no live TV and won't play video. Possibly the webserver? But using default settings andits not Windows firewall as turning that off doesn't make any difference. Attached the logs and syntax check.

Should have added works fine on PC - all functions

I don't see any attempts to talk to the web server from the PCH (well I do but that looks like it was a month ago), but it looks like you have both a user id and password set on the web server which is not supported.

I also don't see an mvpmc share on your NMT so is it possible that you are using the CSI method? I still haven't requested the update of the version of mvpmcx2 available through CSI

Thank you for looking at this. I had used CSI to install GBPVR on the PCH sometime ago so I have now used CSI to uninstall that and have rerun NMTinstall2.

I get the request can't be processed error when trying to run NPVR from the share.

Below is the new logs and the syntax check.

I noticed that when I reran NMTinstall2 it indicated that neither Nshared.dll or Unmanaged.dll were successfully copied - if that is relevant?

That looks good assuming your file permissions are ok, so I suggest powering your PCH off and on and trying the first option again. If that doesn't work it is related to share permissions or having simple file sharing turned off.

As for NMTInstall2, I did upload a change last night that uses NPVRServerControl to stop services so that patches can be applied.

I have a windows 7 64 PC. File and printer sharing is turned on under network settings. The mvpmc share is shared with Everybody for full control (RW). I have tried power cycling the PCH. I am still getting the "request can not be processed error.

When I used NMTInstall2 this morning it did stop the service but the Nshared.dll and Unmanaged.dll were still not copied to the folder. Should I copy these manually?

Sharing for Everyone is not the same as a setting share for Guest. Make sure you check the link on the dummies guide.

You can copy the files but that isn't what is causing this problem.

I thought I had it set to share for Guest. I have attached a snip of the share settings for the mvpmc folder.

I have rebooted both PCH and the PC but still get the error message

Ok, I wasn't saying that the file wasn't shared for Guest, I was just making a comment based on what you were telling me about Everyone. The other important setting is having the Public Folder Sharing on the network. Assuming you'd done that the only problem I can think of is your npvr.cgi file. I can look at it if you'd like.

Thanks Martin.

Public folder sharing is fine. I have attached npvr.cgi. If you can't see anything wrong with that I will uninstall NPVR and rerun NMTInstall2

Sorry now I see the problem, maybe you edited the default name of the share to just MEDIA instead of the default MEDIA:mvpmc. Remove the mvpmc share from the NMT and re-add it and it should default to MEDIA:mvpmc.

Alternatively edit your NPVR.html file to MEDIA from MEDIA:mvpmc but be sure to use a Linux format editor.
