Hi Com Smile

I have a little question. Using nPVR 1.5.33, importing my dvd collection to harddisk (again, the seagate harddisks were awful! 10 of 11 1,5 tbs died...). A lot of people and developer shows in the wip screens pictures of movies with data. Most times information of a movie, rating or something similar.
In most cases all tools are for us/uk usage only. But i collect my movies with a tool called DVD Profiler from invelos. This tool provides too a lot of information for movies. With an addon it's even possible to export data of own movies to a .csv file which could be imported to excel (as an example).
Exists already a handy dandy tool to extract date from such a .csv for nPVR usage? So that i could retrieve data from my own collection and display somehow within nPVR?

I don't know of anything like that but I've been working on a plugin that will detect when a disc is placed in a drive, detect the disc type, calculate the disc id for DVDs and Blurays, download the metadata information, then display a popup with the information (poster, rating, description, etc) with the option to play the disc or rip it to your video library.

If you give me about a week, I should have a beta ready.

Hey, that sounds really great! But about the recognitionmethod we should talk again. I am not willing to insert 1.500+ dvds again into the pc... oO What do you think, were it possible to import .xml like the attachment? The filename of the xml is the EAN / UPC of the medium (dvd / hd-dvd / bluray). The disc id is inside the xml (and a lot of information of the movie).

Does it save that file in the DVD folder? If so, the best thing to do would be to just ask sub to add metadata support for it when he gets back. You might need to rename the files dvdprofiler.xml or something like that.

If you can use sed NPVR will be able to read this file in Media\Shows with this simple substitution

sed -e "s/<DVD>/<Data><Series>/" -e "s/</DVD>/</Series></Data>/" < in.xml > out.xml

I didn't look that deeply into the xml structure but Martin has a good idea.
