When ya right click the gb-pvr icon in the systray, ya get an option to manually ur "Update EPG".
Is there a command line or sumthin that does that also?

C:\$$gbpvr\pvrx2.exe -emptyepgonly
C:\$$gbpvr\pvrx2.exe -updateepgonly

awesome thanks guys, I'll throw that in my scheduled tasks.
BTW, I'm now up to parsing the epg for 11 OTA channels that
I can receive here. For a total of 18 once ya count up all the subchannels.
10 if which are HD.

Just wanted to say that it's nice to see some interest in OTA EPG support. I'll be checking into some of the solutions posted in this thread when I get a chance. Just let my Schedules Direct subscription lapse as my GBPVR system is only a backup system running one tuner anyway. Primary system is running Windows 7 with media center, so I can get my EPG data free with my purchase of W7.
mvallevand Wrote:My personal experience with the local OTA ATSC guide in TSReader is that the info is pretty much for the current evening with limited descriptions which makes this pretty useless as EPG data.

I can get a minimum of 1 day of guide data free OTA, usually several days. The main information I want is the title of the show so that I can schedule it to record. I really don't need a description, although there is usually description data too. If I could schedule programs to record without paying for a subscription I for one would be thrilled. I'm guessing there are others out there like me who don't pay for television - we only receive OTA - and I still have more programs recorded than I have time to watch - over 1TB worth of recorded tv, all of it from OTA digital. I receive over 20 channels (lost count with the last few that were added in my area). Am I alone?

Pretty old thread at this point, but had to check back after seeing it pop up in a google search. (SD sub just expired, time for me to deal with it).

The newer NPVR application supports the ATSC OTA EPG.

Wow, how fast are you? Thanks for the VERY quick response. I'll check out NPVR next time I have a chance.
