1.5.36 can't use analog tuners, but 1.5.33 can.

Curious. ATM i have one enabled HVR-2200 (analog), one disabled HVR-2200 (analog) and one cablestar HD 2 (digital).

I opened after a restart of the system the settings of NPVR.exe. Then i went down to the devices screen. First part is ok: 2 Tuners were available (hvr-2200), 2 Tuners were not present (another hvr-2200). And here comes it: If i try to REMOVE the "enabled" checkbox of each tuner (all four as an example) this will not be saved. Not direct on the fly, not after restarting NPVR. It looks as would the database not react on this setting.

Perhaps this information could help you a little. I will observe now NRecord a longer time.

Ah ok, good to know.

So, i watched a while the NRecord.exe process. Since 25.12.2010 08:10:03 pm NRecord.exe crashed every 80 seconds(!) (both tuners were enabled); a lot of planned recordings are... just trash. Big Grin

Now, where i disabled one tuner, the event errors are gone. No NRecord.exe crashing since nearly one hour. This is a good sign.
The problem with the pin connection in the NRecord.log stays anyway. Sad

See if this helps on HVR-2200 with problems on the other tuners.

At least this patch removes the permanent crashing of NRecord.exe, even with two enabled hvr-2200 (at least for now, i will watch for it Big Grin

).

Did you actually have a problem, or are you just worried about the messages in the logs?

It looks like that the patch did the trick. I have no more errors in the eventlog, no more NRecord.exe crashes and i am currently recording with all 5 tuners with 2% cpu usage (it seems that hardwareencoding is working too on both hvr-2200).
To be honest, yes, the messages makes me worry. But i even don't know what the meaning of the messages is.

I didn't want to rock the boat because Sub Santa came early, but my PVR150 kept getting error message as page 1 of this thread.

Can't play tonight as Server has been turned off due to house full at Xmas. Should patch fix all analog device errors or just hvr2200?

All builds of NextPVR have had this problem with the second tuner on a HVR-2200, causing it to fall back to soft encoding. The problem stems from a Hauppauge driver bug which miss-reports information that allows apps to locate the different parts of the same tuner.. The only reason we noticed it now, was because some new logic added for soft encoding caused an error message on this hard encoding. So this new error message was really a blessing in disguise.

You've always had those messages, it just wasnt logging them because I didnt want to scare people. I wanted to see them because it was going to help me know what was happening. I've hidden them again in the next release.
