You could use the MCE Standby Tool to run a batch file on suspend that closed NPVR, then another on resume to launch it again.

Or something in [DATA-DIRECTORY]\Scripts\Wakeup.bat maybe?

I was thinking of adding the alt-enter command (twice with a delay) into the Wakeup.bat but I decided to take the chance on the newest ATI drivers first. Haven't had a chance yet.

I used TightVNC for the VNC option. It appears to have fixed the resolution problem but messed up file sharing in the process. Sigh...

I really can't imagine how installing TightVNC could affect file sharing in any way. They simply aren't related and have nothing in common. Look for another cause, like a firewall perhaps.

Doesn't it need to make changes to permissions in order to function? I assume so. The program did change how my files were shared on both computers. Fortunately, it is using password protected sharing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to change the settings. It appears the uninstall didn't remove whatever reg change they made. I haven't worked on them since, but neither computer was responding to changes in the Sharing Center settings either before or after the uninstall. The one exception is that shutting off sharing seems to work.

weird, I've installed and used TightVNC on many different computers on many different flavors of Windows (and have it running on my NPVR box right now), and have never encountered anything like that. sorry, I have no idea what to suggest.

Thanks Johnson. I can do that with one of the computers. Fortunately, for the other, the new problem seems better than the old problem . At a minimum, it is harder for my wife to see that there is a problem. It just kind of figures that as one thing gets fixed another gets broken. C'est la vie!
