Thanks Sub! always responsive and on the top of things. You can certainly replace a few software vendors I am dealing with....

It's working great for me sub. I had 6 1/2 hour and 7 hour live TV sessions without any black screen.
@zaldwaik, if you do have problems please send logs, without them complaints are pointless. If you can't change channels in LiveTV something else sounds wrong. Martin

I have tried about 1 hour Live TV sessions and so far so good. However, I got the blank screen as I was going from one channel to another

Here you go. Restarting recording service did not reset NMT. I had to do a hard reset.
web logs were the only ones changing.....

Unfortunately because of the limited logging in NPVR you need to set MVP server to one and then duplicate the problem.

Sure. As I am trying to reproduce the problem with one server running, I got the blank, however it was my kid starting another NMT. I expected for that second session not to start, but it actually took over mine and he continued to watch TV. This may be unrelated but I thought I would tell just in case having multiple NMTs may have something to do with it.

Here you go. Last channel switch to WRC gave me the blank screen. I can do more testing if you want me to. Thanks.

Thanks zaldwaik, this is good info that I need for since I haven't seen it before, and in this case it is something sub should look into too. The last file doesn't seem to be growing but the lease is continuing and the signal is locked which is odd to me (it might be the XP bug too) yet nothing is telling mvpmcx2 to stop waiting.
This is also the kind of file that you might want to try another channel change (repeat for previous channel is a good one) to see if it gets you going again. It might not mvpmcx2 might be blocking if NPVR does nothing and I have to check if I can handle this cleanly. Martin

Thanks Martin. I did try a channel change unsuccessfully. I am going to do more testing and post the results. I saw the file not growing, but in the past the file would continue to grow. It would be great if mvpmcx2 can recognize something amiss and either closes the connection or quite back to PCH main menu.
Should I worry about the "connection was forcibly closed" errors? |
