NextPVR is not a paid for software. That means it is free for your personal use BUT as you have not paid for it the support is limited to the forums and wiki.

Extender support is similar to the SageTV devices that you have bought but they will not work with NextPVR. Extender support is limited to the PCH A100/110 device family.

I've downloaded the most recent SageTV betas that I'll be trying once I get a chance for precisely that purpose.

I know that some of the main concerns for SageTV users are:

HD-PVR/Colossus support.
DCT support (I'm working on it).
No DRM on recordings.
Small Extender devices.

I find this brilliant. As usual the GB-PVR/NextPVR community just likes a good challenge Next week. Next month, the fact that you are having a look just makes me fill with smiles! I know that should SageTV users come this way, I don't think that they would be disappointed.

Be interesting to see your take Mr whurlston! Very, very similar to GB-PVR/NextPVR from what I can make out, apart from the fact they were reliant on an inbuilt [EPG] TV guide source?

One of the nice things about the latest version of SageTV is how they handle plugins, you can install them from inside the program and many of the plugins add a lot the user expierience. I am using the Diamond UI mod and it is much nicer than the stock user interface from Sage, I also use the jetty web server and bought a user made iphone app. I think SageTV really fell short when it came to DVB-S tuners as it is not as common here as the rest of the world, there is a group working on setting up a FTA network in the U.S. but it has not launched yet. I used to have 2 C/Ku-band satellite dishes in my yard for legal FTA DVB-S and it was not easy to setup in SageTV.

This was on sub's list for NextPVR and I will take responsibility for it not being there. I wouldn't accept any method of installing plugins that I wrote that would put application dll's outside the "Program Files" folder. I felt and still strongly feel that programs should respect the logic behind UAC in Win7/Vista. As more plugins are written maybe sub will add this, my plugins simply won't be available.
