Just got an A-100 NMT for christmas and trying set it up. I followed the Dummies Guide, but can't get the npvr to load. Below is the output from the syntax checker. I can browse to the NMT from the server, and the NMT can play videos from the server.

As mentioned in Part II of the dummies guide you need to select a Display type other than Auto. 1080i or 1080p would be the best choices.

I just looked at the new dummies guide on the wiki & it looks like that part got misses out of it.....

Also I noticed for the installer "The menu resolution should be left at 720p even if you use a 1080i/p monitor. Videos will play at the higher resolution but the menu screens will be a lot faster. " is that still the recommendation I have a feeling you have recommended something different recently?

Jaggy, what I meant by "menu resolution" is the config.xml setting and it should almost always be 1280x720 for HD and 800x600 for SD. The recommended video setting on the NMT should be 1080p/i if your monitor can handle it, 720p is okay, but the OSD over video can be a little washed out.

The HD recommendations were made in April 2009 so not that recent, SD was early this year when you and I decided it was best.

I update the firmware, and changed the output from auto to 720p Component. Still getting the same error. I also re-ran the NMTInstall again to make sure it hadn't messed anything up on the firmware update. Below is the output from the syntax checker again. Just to verify I'm doing this right, after running NMTInstall, I setup a share of smb://MEDACENTER-W7/mvpmc. Then select that share, and press the blue button and then select NPVR.html. Then select NPVR? The dummies guide doesn't have the part about selecting NPVR.html. I was using the dummies guide on the wiki as it seems to be the most recent. Any suggestions are appreciated.

That all looks fine (although 1080 preferred on the NMT side). After unplugging, blue, n-pvr.html and then selecting the first N-PVR option if you get the error that could mean NPVR.cgi is wrong. Can you upload it?

I attached the npvr.cgi and I tried editing the npvr.cgi since I noticed it had the IP address of the server and not the name. Neither one seems to work. I edited it with Notepad++ if that matters.

That look good, the IP is fine. Can you try changing the rw to ro on the mount?

Also did you try playing media from the mvpmc folder?

I put a video in the mvpmc folder and it plays fine. I also changed the mount to RO not RW. Still the same error. I checked the MVP logs and don't see anything. Below is the syntax check again incase it's helpful. Thanks for all your help and the very quick replies. Would it help to change everything to IP address and not use the name?

Since you can play videos the name should be ok. Can you use NMTINstall2 to create the USB load and try from there? Via telnet we can probably figure out why the share won't load.
