This is not a GBPVR issue, but a question to the other Dutch users that may have the same experience.

Since one or two weeks I have lots of problems with the Dutch TV listings.
I use Amontillado's TVGidsToXML. Programs appear sometimes for 4 consecutive days in stead of one. The correct programs are often also listed, overlapping with the false entries. Also I sometimes have gaps in the TV guide.

The grabber uses TVGids.nl as data source so I am wondering if the problem lies in the Dutch TV Source, the TVGidsToXML program or .....?

TVGids.nl started to post only schedules for today and the next two days. Is not a problem with the grabbers. They (the grabbers) and we all have the same problem.
Has someone found out how MCE gets its information? That seems to work.

Aha... So that was happening. Is there a resolution (i.e. use another provider??).

Those using TVGidsToXML need to change the number of days to read in the future in the .ini file to 2. TVGids.NL will continue to reply with day 2 data for all numbers above 2

When emptying the EPG in GBPVR I noticed the already pending recordings, (being there because they relate to reocurring recordings) did not get automatically removed.

I think this is a bit of a bug as this will cause erratic recordings once recording times change and you reload the guide data. I think GBPVR should reschedule all recordings once the guide data is refreshed.

Hoi,
I know this has been asked before, and I agree that it would be very convenient when scheduled recordings were updated.

What I do for now is that I have a batchfile that empties the epg, before updating it. Maybe Sub could implement that as well, and then only the scheduled recordings have to be checked for changes. As the number of scheduled recordings will be limited, this seems, from the outward, relatively easy. But of course, I don't know the internals of GBPVR.

Still no one who has discovered how MCE is getting its EPG information? This would be very helpfull because it even takes into account your location and/or cable supplier. As MCE is getting this information over internet in theory it should be possible to mimic this Big Grin

I've been abroad for some months, back home again and here in the forum again Smile and now I am firing up GBPVR again.
I noticed that my grabber (tv_grab_nl) doesn't work at all anymore. When start grab.bat I get this:

downloading summary: http://www.tvgids.nl/zoeken/?station=1&g...imeslot=0: date in page 2005071900:00:00 (Dinsdag 19 juli 2005) doesn't match expected 2005-07-20 at /PerlApp/grab/nl/tv_grab_nl line 1168.

Which imho means that tv_grab_nl encounters the same look-beyond-two-days-in-the-future problem. But since tv_grab_nl is hardcoded I can't change that. Apparently in tvgids_to_xml I can, but I don't need all the data there.
So the bottom line is: Is there an updated tv_grab_nl?
It goes without saying that I do appreciate very much Amontillado's work, who helped me out when I started bulding my HTPC.

And now that I'm at it:
Anyone got a very recent UPC Amsterdam frequency/channel list?

Any help is very much appreciated

edited: I just noticed that in the latest XMLTV.zip tv_grab_nl completely has disappeared in the /share dir, but still is mentioned in the /man dir. Weird???

cheers, arttext

...

You do can specify how many days to look in the future with the commandline-argument "--days n". I use the command:

Code:
"c:\xmltv\xmltv.exe" tv_grab_nl --days 3 --output nl.xml

That works for me.

I have real good experience with http://www.addictivesoftware.net/index.p...&Itemid=28 using the grabguide script provided on that page. Very very fast with the download. (takes less then 5 seconds). The guide is already grabbed so you dont need to grab it yourself anymore.

also arttext, a recent freq list for UPC amsterdam: http://www.upc.nl/frequencies_gm.php?GM=0363
