Good morning. Zero-byte recordings would indicate that certain firewall exceptions need to be created. You could also test for that by disabling the firewall. Of course decoders will need to be set in any event.

With Windows 7, "Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder" seems to be a sure thing for MPEG2. Decoders are often tailored to work only with specific programs, which might be the case with your MainConcept. You can try other decoders once you get things working. Set H.264 to Disabled since it isn't used for U.S. TV. Stick with EVR for video renderer.

At least in my area, all digital channels use AC3 audio. I wasn't able to get any audio until I installed AC3Filter: http://ac3filter.net/

You'll need MPEG1 audio if you have any analog channels. Other audio formats should be Disabled. Audio renderer should be Default.

OK - kicked off a 20 minute recording session of channel 2. Can't find where the recording has been stored. I looked in all of the locations listed in the "Media Folders" in Settings - with no files found in those locations...

while you're at it, set the Live TV buffer directory on the Misc page to a valid directory.

My apologies for only getting back to this now. I made several attempts at recording a TV show - and none of them have worked. It seems like the actual recording never kicks of. I just checked a recording that I scheduled several days ago and its was listed as "pending"... I could not find any files in any of the locations I have designated to store recordings...

Ok, found the recordings and they are all 0 bytes long - at the end of the set recording time, its says recording failed...

I did find recordings in C:\temp and they were 0 bytes long and NPVR reported that recording FAILED...

Recording should have started at 3:21pm and ended at 3:30pm...
