Yup, I now have the full EPG for 187 channels !!!! The Bulk EPG selector was not exactly user friendly to find - but I stumbled into it...

I've been reading the above posts to help me set up my HDHomerun.

I've allowed the firewall to pass: NDigitalHost.exe, NextPVR.exe, NRecord.exe.

I now have audio but no picture. However, I do have video for the the Picture In Picture. What should I do to get the video for the main picture?

What choices do you have for MPEG2 Video Decoder under Settings - Decoders? Also what version of Windows are you running? [Edit] Is PC connected to display by DVI, HDMI or what?

MPEG2 is using Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder. My other choices are "Disabled" and "ffdshow Video Decoder". Tried all 3 options. With Microsoft and ffdshow, the picture will display for about 1 second then go black.
Using Windows 7.
PC connected to a LCD flat screen TV with HDMI.

The Microsoft decoder is usually reliable with Windows 7, and HDMI is the best way to connect a PC to a TV. Have you been able to record anything, and does the same thing happen when you play a recording? What video card do you have, and does it have a control panel? (It probably does if its Nvidia.) What is the refresh rate set to?

For the lack of logs maybe confirm that you have

<AlternateOSDForMissingVideo>false</AlternateOSDForMissingVideo>

in config.xml

I can record with picture and playing back the recording has the picture.
The video card is built into the motherboard. It is an Asus motherboard, about 2 1/2 years old. Did not find a control panel.

Don't know if this is related or not: I have not been able to upgrade to 2.6.2. During the setup I get "Error opening file for writing: c:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NShared.dll"

You should make the change I suggested. For NShared stop the recording service and exit Ntray and run the update again.

Martin is very knowledgeable. I see <AlternateOSDForMissingVideo>true</AlternateOSDForMissingVideo> but don't know what it means myself.

There's already a thread regarding your update problem (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...quot-error). Basically you must run Stop NPVR Service before updating.

[Edit] @Martin: I'm guessing vfromks never edited an xml file (and neither have I). Open with what?
