Hi just installed NPVR on an older 2007 optiplex computer. I am using a hauppauge hvr1600 tuner card. Everything installed well. In Device manager I see the hvr1600 as NTSC/Qam/ATSC, but in NPVR I only see the ATSC/Qam side of the tuner - no analog. I can scan for the ATSC channels and they all come in and play really well, just no analog tuner. I need the analog side of the tuner for my dish network channels. I have tried a few different drivers with no success. Any ideas?

You need to have the Hauppauge soft-PVR components installed. Installing WinTV 7 is the easiest way for a Hauppauge card, if you have the original disk. You can ignore WinTV after installing, it won't affect anything, IIRC. Or, check the getting started sticky at the top of the forum for guidance on how to install just the file needed. NPVR won't show analog devices unless the soft-PVR component is installed.

That would be the sticky at the top of the NPVR support forum. Scroll down until you find the analog tuners section.

That did it. I Had to change the .bat to show which version of WinTV I had(as described in the wiki). I now have analog. Thanks

Having problems with a hauppage hvr-900. This is a USB analog and dvd-t tuner.
Installed nextpvr latest version and detected dvb-t but not analog but worked fine. Installed wintv7 as the patch for soft pvr didn't work. Now nextpvr can't start the device, but is showing 2 tuners hvr-900 dvb-t and hvr-900 analog. Any ideas??

Is this the HVR-900H or the HVR-900? Unfortunately the later users a non-standard approach to doing it's audio, making it's analog incompatible with NextPVR>

Thanks for the response it is the hvr-900. Have uninstalled wintv 7, unfortunately now npvr is showing the device just as dvb-t but won't let me scan for channels as it cannot start the device. As I used hcwclear and revo uninstaller to get rid of that nasty wintv, maybe there is still some service left running? Weirdly getting the win7 message "your device can perform faster....." When I install the hvr-900! any advice would be appreciated as it was working fine with just the digital and was intergrating well with xbmc. !! ..??

Maybe it's telling you you've got connected to an old-school USB 1 port instead of USB2/USB3.

It's definitely connected to a usb2 port, have a feeling it's a win7 issue .... Nextpvr sees the 900 as present dvb-t but can't start the device to search for channels ?

Are all your drivers up to date
try a different port if you can
do you have any other usb devices connected ? maybe try disconnecting them for testing
