Most people don't care about closed captions, so it's probably not a big deal for them - any they still get to have a tick in the 'closed captions' box since WinTV has it's proprietary method for handling closed captions on devices that cant do them natively. It's only a problem when you want to use closed captions in a 3rd party app.
