I'm a FOSSIL! Wink

I built this particular HTPC in late 2006 and since it is my primary recording & viewing appliance, see no need to change it other than to follow behind with GB-PVR/NextPVR updates.

I have a newer recording HTPC based on MythTV as well, but the Hauppauge drivers are simply better in Windows so NextPVR remains my main front end. Occasionally I'll use XBMC on a laptop to access both video stores over the network but in a lot of ways still prefer NPVR. Good job, sub.

You might be surprised... I have two NPVR 3.1.1 servers running XP Pro SP3 and I know of at least a couple of other XP users. I didn't get the problem because I don't install patches or rollups on my live servers unless they apply to me.

My main PVR server is still XP and still gbpvr - It works so well I'm scared to mess with it. There is another machine sat next to it with W7 and the current npvr, but getting all my schedules moved across is a worry. (many waiting for shows to appear in the epg).

Those of us in North America who subscribe to schedulesdirect.org have gotten complacent and forget about life w/o reliable EPG.

Sorry, you may have got the wrong impression from my post Wink
Our EPG is good (and free) from a couple of sources, including off-air (but still missing unique show IDs).
My worry is that I have many season/recurring recordings in the database from past shows that are just still sat there waiting for them to be aired again with a new series or summer for the motorsports etc. Getting these into npvr when there isn't an EPG entry to create them is a bit of a problem. I may have to try harder?

For that sort of stuff, I use NEWA AutoRecord with the CLI... It rarely misses a show, although I can get a lot of stuff I don't want but it's easy enough deleted...

I suppose it depends on whether people really feel the need to keep up with systems or do so by default (purchase of new machines etc). Let's face it Vista was a disaster although W7 an improvement and W8...hmm. I can't think of anything significant that any of them would add to my npvr setup.

Embarrassingly, I rarely if ever use the web interface. Any chance of a quick pointer to autorecord and a CLI clue (a quick glance and I can't find it).

Sorry, OP well off topic.
