oh wait i think you might need to use mplex for this. yeah mplex combines the split files back into a mpeg file (sorry about that, been a while since i actually looked at how this works). so go to the wiki and there should be a link to download mplex on either my videos page or the demuxing page (probably both) then this is how you use mplex
Code:
mplex.exe -f 8 -o output.mpg input.mpv input.mpa
its a command line tool, obiviously. you might want to look into using the "my videos demuxing" tool once a night (ie shove it into the postepgupdate.bat file) to *fix* all these files, but see if it makes any difference after you cut them aswell (ie if you demux/remux them then cut them are they ok or still buggered?).

you can get mplex here, its the dvdauthorgui application, but its comes with many video tools, just look in the bin folder where you install this and there should be a mplex.exe file in there. (sorry yeah mplex isnt on the wiki as i said, it comes with dvdauthor Smile)

reason I haven't been updating to my video is that I have an older version of GBPVR (v.9112) and am afraid of upgrading would affect my existing format, e.g. rename recording, rectracker, etc's setting.....

will it affect me at all>

nah it should effect any of that, you dont need to use "my videos" to use the demuxing tool.

but I need to do the MPLEX thing manually....everytime, right?

Is there a simple tool (not in myvideo plugin) where one can demux (into 2 files) and then remux all together?

the my videos demuxing tool does this, it uses a convert.bat file (or conversion.bat file) and just create a demux.ajb file for PVA and passes the temp files etc. just play around with it at the command line, its pretty simple stuff.

I guess my steps to do are:
upgrade GBPVR to newer version and then add myvideo plugin?!

nah you dont need any special version of gbpvr in order to get the demuxing tool to work. just play around with the it at the command prompt, you should be able to figure it out (theres only really like two options).

Oh no, back to confusion......

I thought in order for demuxing tool to work, I need myvideo and in order for myvideo to work, I need to upgrade to newer version than .9112?

Wait.....what's a demuxing tool? PVA?

So, does that mean
1)I run PVA to separate into 2 files first and then
2)use MPLEX to combine them again? Is that how you suggest? Or I am missing something else ?

Or is there another tool that can combine above two together? (not myvideo)

ps, I have no problem doing stuff at the command prompt....

Thanks again
