Ok I have Nextpvr installed but I am missing something, I cant get it to show any live tv and the only channels it finds is Qam and they don't work either . I didn't think I has to install soft pvr from the cd because I currently have everything installed on the gbpvr or am I mistaken ? when I go into devices under settings it shows 5 tuners qam, atsc for the 2 tunners the last thing on list is iptv what ever that is but when i go to setup and do a Chanel scan the atsc comes back with no channels also I don't have anywhere to set schedule direct as my guide epg! what am I Missing thx again

If you're doing old-school analog, then you either need to have WinTV7 installed (which includes SoftPVR), or just the SoftPVR components. It's specifically looking to reuse one component from these software packages. It's looking for the MainConcept TS Mux filter. Without this, it disables analog support, and doesn't list any analog devices it finds.

NextPVR depends on this SoftPVR components so that it can support a much larger and more varied set of analog devices than GBPVR ever could. It also allows these devices to produce a transport stream, the same as digital devices do, allowing NextPVR to have a single consistent live tv behaviour and recording engine across all device types.

Wouldn't I have all of that stuff installed because I have the gbpvr setup and is working everyday? I just disable it when I am setting up the nextpvr or do I use CD then after all is set uninstall it

No, it didn't do analog the same way.

If you go to the Settings->Devices screen in NextPVR, and post the npvr.log, we'll be able to tell if the components are missing or not. It sounds like they're missing though.

Reproduce the problem and post your npvr.log and nrecord.log and we'll take a look.

The log files are in "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs" on Vista/Win7/Win8 and "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR" on XP.

Your live tv buffer directory is set to C:\Temp. Does that directory exist?

Can you restart the recording service, then try to start live tv (no other activity like scanning), then post the logs again?
