I know where NPVR.exe is but I don't find a way to update database in the listings. Can you tell me how to do that, please?

Try running "NextPVR.exe -updatedb"

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/...dows-8.htm
or make a batch file open notepad copy and paste following text cd "c:\Program Files\NPVR" NextPVR.exe -updatedb save as "updatedb.bat" place on desktop and click on it

Still no joy. Made the batch file and ran it on the server. Restarted the client and still have the database window showing up. The client works, I just have to hit enter a couple of more times when I make changes to get rid of the database window. And, I can't see the epg in the Client (I can see the screen but it's not got any info). The Devices selection in setting in the Client won't populate although I can see the address for the database which is the same as the one in the Client. Any more thoughts?

What version of Windows are you running?? If your on 64 bit the batch file will be like this
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR" NextPVR.exe -updatedb

I think this is 32/64 and OS independent
Code: "%PROGRAMFILES%\NPVR\NextPVR.exe" -updatedb Martin

I tried the 64 bit bat file since the server is 64 bit win7 (the client pc is plain old win7). I did get a different result when I ran that batch file on the server. A black box opened for a few seconds and then NPVR opened on the screen (nothing happened with the first batch file). Still no change on the client, however. Any more ideas?

When you run the update make sure you stop the recording service all xbmc clients and ndroid. Try the 3.38 install on the server and upgrade the server side logs just after
