Installed gbpvr today, and I've fiddled around a bit, it looks really nice!!

Everything have worked perfect for me, and when I read about direct booting into gbpvr (going to use this for recording tv and listen to music), I followed the Tips&Trix (on the gbpvrWiki site). After fiddeling a bit more I've managed to boot directly into gbpvr, but then I lost the function of the Remote Controll (Hauppage pvr150 w/remote). Everything else works well (internet-connection, weather plugin etc.). I've tried to enable/disable the 'direct access to Hauppage remote'. I've also tried to have/not have the ir.exe in startup. Now I'm lost... Do anyone have some suggestions about what I can do to fix this problem?

putting ir.exe in startup or e.g. in the registry (e.g. HKLU\software\microsoft\windows\run) is of no use when the shell is replaced. the default shell (explorer.exe) is checking startup/run in registry and starting whatever is in there.

and afak the 'direct access to hauppauge remote' does not work with the new 45 button remote (which one are you using anyway?).

so you would have to use a little program which starts ir.exe _and_ gbpvr.exe.

i never played arround with this... but the following could work (no warranty given!) (/c starts the following command in the command-shell and does end afterwards. you could also try /k (the same but cmd.exe will _not_ end after exec):

cmd.exe /c c:\path\to\shell.bat

shell.bat should look like:
start /D"c:\path\to\wintv" ir.exe
c:\path\to\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe

the command 'start' runs a file without waiting for it to end.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

works really fine

only added /quiet for ir.exe (no confirmation)
and changed the order (faster start)

my batch looks like this:

>>>
start /D"c:\Progra~1\gbpvr" gbpvr.exe
start /D"c:\Progra~1\wintv" ir.exe /QUIET
Exit
>>>

you can even add antivir or similar programs,
just have a look to msconfig.exe how to call them

does anyone know how to minize the starting of the batch???

I am having this same problem. Though I have a Hauppage 1600. I am trying the solution posted in this thread but I don't understand how it works. I now have a .bat file that looks like this:

start /D"c:\Progra~1\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe
start /D"c:\Progra~1\wintv\ir.exe /QUIET
Exit

Now what? Where do I put it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Things have moved on. GBPVR.EXE is now PVRX2.EXE.

Good luck
