OK, comclean failed yet again. Same errors as in my first post.
SA did NOT run on the second show (that ended at the same time).

this is becomming seriously frustrating. Sad

Going to try again with the timer delay thing.

Edit: Find.exe is looking for the "Processing complete" line, correct?
My recordings are all in respective folder names, on my "D" drive...is this a problem?

Please help me get this sorted out :o

reboot Wrote:So let me get this straight.
I edit comclean.bat to include 24 dashes.
Right.
reboot Wrote:Do I then still need the timer.exe delay thing? (BTW, I couldn't find it for XP, but when I ran the postprocessing.bat with it in, something called find.exe chewed up about 50% of CPU cycles for half an hour before I manually stopped it).
Timeout.exe also seems to quit as soon as I hit any key (according to the websites I found), which won't work at all...
Comclean, and renamerecordings never did go...
Testing again now.
If you use the comskip proxy, this is not needed and probably harmful.

I don't think so. What I will do is see if I can come up with a batch file line that will work regardless of the number of dashes.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the timeout shorter?
If I set it to 8 minutes, (about the time it takes per hour of recording), and it doesn't find the "file processing complete", then it only waits another 8 minutes before testing again...

I suppose it's a judgment call. Setting the timeout short means it's going to go back and test more often, setting it longer means not so many tests but a longer delay if it you "just miss it". Your mileage may vary, but in thinking about it further I guess I think you are right and I'd be inclined to go with a shorter timeout, say 10 minutes or something.

Do I need to download and install the timer thingy, or is there an error in the code?

Yes, as I recall you can find it on Microsoft. It's a freebie part of the Windows XP Resource Kit (along with some other cute toys.)

I found an old one from NT, but couldn't find anything for XP...maybe I just can't search well enough on MS, it's horrible to find anything.

Partial success!
The 24 dashes works, so now SA runs, then comclean, then renamerecordings...

The last problem to sort out...why doesn't SA and Comclean run on the second recording (or the 3rd or 4th)? Renamerecordings works, so I know that postprocessing.bat is working on all recordings.

Seems I missed this thread while trying to get the MPEG sound to synchronise with the video (it now works.......)

If you enable the "command extensions" in CMD (should be on by defualt) then you can use the
%arg:~0,4% notation to extract the first 4 characters from variable arg

I will add it to comclean to the amount of dash is not important.

For those whishing to edit the file
Code:
:processline
rem Skip useless lines
set arg=%1
if "%arg:~0,4%"=="FILE" goto :eof
if "%arg:~0,4%"=="----" goto :eof

set /a cut=%1
rem Output the clip information for the show part
set /a length=%1-%start%
set /a duration=%duration%+%length%
call :totime %duration%
set cutpoints=%cutpoints% %tim%

if "%cut%"=="0" goto :nostartshow
if "%cut%"=="1" goto :nostartshow
call :totime %start%
set cmdline=%cmdline% [%tim%
call :totime %1
set cmdline=%cmdline%-%tim%]
:nostartshow
