4.0.4 Skips Hang Playback

The good news is the legacy reader can still be enabled and should still work for everyone, so for now it is an inconvenience as the issues of the new reader are worked out. In the future it should be a lot better as people provide the feedback to sub.

but i'm getting lockups w legacy reader still [while just playing]...very long between crashes but they do happen..
no crashes on new one unless i skip to cause it..

Nope. That's what is so confusing about 4.0.4. Selecting the legacy reader doesn't fix the hangs.

My guess is that file would have crashed under the last release to.

Do you get a c:\temp\crash.mdmp file?

i never got a single crash under 3.92..
i don't even notice a jitter in video in other players..what caused it?

nope, no crash.mdmp...but i didn't have a c:\temp either.

only useful info in event viewer says 'cross-thread'

i just had a weird thing happen, watching a game and timeline suck at 199 mins, right side of timeline says 3:18:56 and im playing at [left side] 3:21:00 already..
can't skip or it'll return to 199min mark...this is a recording...[not in progress]

just hoping this will help diagnose things..
will get logs in a few mins..

Just to add my two cents, I get hangs and crashes in 4.0.4 using both the new and old TS reader. I have reverted to 3.9.2 and all is okay again.

On 3.9.2, about 1 or 2 seconds after a channel change there is a glitch in the picture. My gut feeling is that this glitch in the stream is what is causing 4.0.4 to hang. Sorry I haven't been saving logs, but if there are any tests that I could do to help I'd be happy to.
