hi, glad you're back..Big Grin which problem did you want to look at first?
client is working great on old reader, tho both server and client still sometimes lockup randomly..[feels like sudden memory leak, even tho nothing's changed with old reader itself] maybe changes in it's 'environment'?

client with new reader only has probs with mpeg2 channels stuttering in livetv or in-progress..

really more important to me is the problem starting some channels on server, without having to change channels to get video going...
weird thing is, usually after getting channel going by changing channels, it usually works first try after that..[not always] as if some initialization isn't completing for mpeg2..
and changing channels only works if you let it 'settle' a few seconds to sync..if you go tooo fast, it won't help mpeg2 channel.

and skipping still seems like it doesn't know precisely where it is currently, as skips will sometimes go past end, or skip forward only gets you to where you were originally[it thought it was farther back than it was actually, so skip forward gets you to where you already are watching, not ahead]
i'm sure i'm forgetting something...lol

oh yea, the non-starting of streams on HDPVRs...Big Grin

Unticking did not solve the problems I mentioned. To finally get it to work I shut down NPVR, deleted all 9/17 (I believe that's the date) files in "user" NPVR and then reinstalled 3.9. Now it works perfectly and I'm inclined to just leave it that way after the frustration I had with the later version. I notice others are having these problems so I'll just wait until it looks like all has been resolved.

Something else changed somewhere that is affecting playback, as using the legacy reader option is also buggered here. It behaves worse than the new reader. Sad

Similar here on legacy reader. Recording playback is fine and limited live TV is fine, but skipping is not good. First skip after some period of play is fine, but subsequent immediate skips freeze for a couple seconds before "catching up". Not much different than the new reader. Logs say Reader 2 in use.

+1. Neither worked for me. Major frustration and negative WAF. All good with 3.9 .

Can you try this patch with your client, for playback of MPEG2 HD? If it doesn't help, please post the client's client.txt and the services nrecord.log.

Remote access might be good for the HDPVR issue.

Did that version help at all with viewing MPEG2 HD channels? I can see this log is correctly using the new larger packet size. If that didn't help, I can also try bumping up buffer size.
