Why not specify LAV so you don't have to fix everything for everyone? As well as supported OS's. Although I "respect" those on XP, you shouldn't have to support it at this point. Just a thought... .

Because not everyone has it, and it doesn't play nicely for some users. Some things are also better in the Microsoft decoders.

But LAV is free and everyone CAN use it. You should specify what "plays nicely", and not worry about all the users who use Cyberlink, MainConcept, WinXP, Win2000, or whatever. My understanding is MS decoders will not be supplied going forward. Imagine how much of your time would be freed up if you just say "this is what works, if you choose to use something else, tough". Just a thought.

I also should say that this is a wonderful piece of software, with a great community. I've had a ton of fun with it, and I still get puzzled looks when I mention that "we don't watch commercials, they get skipped". Thanks for your hard work.

I've also upgraded to 4.0.5 and have found it more stable than 4.0.4. But, as others have mentioned there is a problem with skipping as well as ComSkip edits. I'm using the LAV decoders and have both checked and unchecked the legacy box. ComSkip won't make it's skips most of the time and regular skip forwards are flaky. Any chance of a solution for that problem?

In what way? I'm not seeing anything weird here.

It's probably worth focusing on regular skips initially. Comskip skipping uses the same mechanism under the covers.

Can you reproduce it playing a recording? If so, it'd be good to get the same file so I can try reproducing it here.

The problem is with recordings I make. Ts files. Downloaded files, mostly mkv or mp4 files work perfectly. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the length of the skip. My normal forward skip is two minutes while the backward skip, wich is 30 seconds normally always works. Wouldn't a thirty minute or one hour ts file be too large to upload?

I've had to download a few 3-4GB files recently, so I guess I can download a half hour one if you see consistent problems skipping in one.

What sort of problem are you seeing? Is it not skipping at all, or jumping too far, or not far enough, or something else?

Sorry, I was off doing something else. When I press forward skip, generally nothing appears to happen at all. Press it again and it will usually play but it'll be four minutes ahead so I then have to back skip to go where I want to be. And sometime, it just hangs completely and I have to restart NPVR. I'm going to have to wait until I have a smaller .ts file for you. I assume it should be zipped.

I'm using the default skip times here and have only had the video freeze once or twice in the last week. It's probably 90% better after the last round of patches. jd1940 may be on to something with his large skip time, since I'm not seeing his issue using the default times on either the normal skip or short skip.
