sub Wrote:I'm not sure if your fritzbox provided this or not. If you'd used just a m3u (no xml), then you'd get channels but no EPG.
If you'd used the built in SAT>IP (instead of m3u), then it'd get listings directly from the broadcast.
The Fritzbox does not provide anything beside the M3U files.
What you mentioned in the remaining text: Yes I know. This is also the reason why I wrote that my Kodi try was a (simple) test. Purpose: Are the Fritzbox stream(s) working in principle? -> yes, i.e. the NextPVR problem it is not a (100%) Fritzbox issue. If I got you right then it is simply because of the random behavior of SAT>IP devices, what a pity!

Regarding the direct use of the device, via SAT>IP, there is something different about the Fritzbox compared with other SAT>IP devices we've encountered. Given you have been able to scan, and able to watch/record a channels, but just having issues changing channels, it sounds like it is very close to fully working. There the problem is something different around the timing of calls when changing channels. Is there any log for the Fritzbox? If so, it might contain clues what it is unhappy with.

Yes it is almost fully working, only the channel switch kills the game. The Fritzbox log does not tell anything. May be there is somewhere an advanced logging option, I have to search for it.

Perhaps the Kodi debug log would help?

I do not use Kodi, it was only a short test for the Fritzbox TV streaming. For you I did it now despite that it is still not really running with its primary software. Result: "Kodi has stopped working". This happens directly after the NextPVR plugin installation, during sync of the EPG or channel data. Sorry, it makes for me no sense to debugg further software (i.e. Kodi and its plugin) as long as the basics are not OK.

If you can't run IPTV Simple either that is significant which could mean the basics are not okay.

I cannot follow you. 1) We have until here clarified that IPTV simple runs well in view of Kodi and is not NextPVR related plugin. 2) That IPTV of NextPVR does not run with the Fritzbox (provided M3U setup file). So I cannot do anything more in this direction.

The fritzbox doesn't care if rtsp is from Kodi or NextPVR. The logging of the rtsp protcol calls used by Kodi to tune your device might give some clue to sub what Kodi is doing differently.

The simply rtsp urls from kodi are very different from NextPVR using SAT>IP directly, so unfortunately these logs wouldn't be much use for comparison.

In general this sounds good Martin, practically: Kodi is still crashing (at channel sync) if the NextPVR add on is enabled. After approx. 1 hour with a 'try and crash loop' I got it running with a workaround: From my 132 TV and radio channels I removed all beside of 2 HD and 2 SD TV channels. Now Kodi starts and (to my big surprise) the NextPVR addon can switch between the channels, not smooth but at least it does the job. The kodi.log is attached.
Thank you Martin, may be this can really help if sub can interpret the LOG.

P.S. Under "Devices" in NPVR settings I have only the 1st Fritzbox tuner enabled.
