Hi,

since the new version I get an error when I close the config-app.
I get an error-window and can click on "close". Everything works fine, but this is not very fine:-)

Here is the message:

Um das JIT-Debuggen (Just-In-Time) zu aktivieren, muss in der
Konfigurationsdatei der Anwendung oder des Computers
(machine.config) der jitDebugging-Wert im Abschnitt system.windows.forms festgelegt werden.
Die Anwendung muss mit aktiviertem Debuggen kompiliert werden.

Zum Beispiel:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

Wenn das JIT-Debuggen aktiviert ist, werden alle nicht behandelten
Ausnahmen an den JIT-Debugger gesendet, der auf dem
Computer registriert ist, und nicht von diesem Dialogfeld behandelt.

Anytime i've ever seen anything that resembles those errors it was tied to a mis beheaving skin file.

It's not much but it's all i've got. I'm sure one of the pro's here will step in and do better.

I seem to remember I've seen a couple of users have the english equivalent of this over the last year. Its something to do with the Windows Performance Counters being disabled on the machine.

I'm not sure why these would be disabled on your machine, since they're normally enabled, or why you would just have started getting this error. Have you installed any other software recently?

Unfortunately with out the exact english version of the text I was unable to find the details using the forums search feature. I do remember that the users found a solution via google, which I think led them to the Microsoft website with instructions on what to tweak...

Hi sub,

I've read some microsoft kb-articles about that.
The registry has 5 entries "Disable Performance Counters" = 1.

All of them where made by the software perfect-disk. (alternative very fast defrag tool).

Now I've changed all this entry from 1 to 0, but this does not help.
Now I've uninstalled perfect disk. After this post I try a reboot.

I tell you, if it works.

Bye,
Sebastian

Hi,

that was no good idea.
When I set all entries to 0 then the windows-network does not start.
I had to reinstall all network devices to get a connection...

But, the error still exists.
Now, I hope, sub will find the problem for the next release.

Bye,
Sebastian

This isnt a problem in GB-PVR, so there will be no "fix" in the next release. As I said, some other users found they had this problem in the past and it was an incompatibility between some settings on their machine and Microsoft .Net. This isnt going fixed by any new version of GB-PVR.

Hi sub,

OK, I believe you:-)

But the function, you are using is not really needed by gbpvr. I hoped that you could HIDE the error-message in the future.

GBPVR works great. And this is only a very little problem.

Now, see my NEW thread about teletext... Today is a very bad day for me and my pvr. I'm sitting here 10 hours and I will not go to bed, before everything works perfect *G*

It is needed. This error occurs when GB-PVR is checking which processes are running on the machine. It needs to know this to determine whether it should interact with the GBPVRTray and/or RecordingService. Whatever this problem setting is, stops .Net apps from being able to get the process list.

Hi sub,

hm. Ok, this is a reason. In the next days, I try to find the problem. You wrote, there were other users with this problem.

You know anybody who could solve this ?

Here in germany, I say "Windows und sein verdammtes DOTTNETT ist MURKS! Dreck Mist..." *G* (I don't translate this.)

Bye,
Sebastian
