Dear NextPVR community,

After setting SATIP_DEVICES=http://192.168.0.1:49000/satipdesc.xml, NExtPVR detected my AVM FRITZ!Box 6490 as SAT>IP device so that I could select one of the four integrated tuners and run a channel scan. TV is DVB-C Kabel Deutschland in Germany/Bajuwaria. There are several scan settings to choose, like "Kabel Deutschland - Ortsnetz Lingen" or various "All Countries" settings. I tried several ones, but onone of them resulted in any found channel.

At present, I do not know whether the scan settings do not match my cable operator or whether there is a general issue with the interworking between NExtPVR and AVM FRITZ!Box 6490.

The channels are defined here: https://helpdesk.vodafonekabelforum.de/s...g-296.html
Is there a way to manually define the scan settings according to the above definition?

Worth to note is that I also tried to add an m3u file as located at http://192.168.0.1/dvb/m3u/tvsd.m3u to the IPTV device assigned to my AVM FRITZ!Box 6490.  No channels were found although the file can be properly retrieved from the given location.

Are there further restrictions to consider when confoguring AVM FRITZ!Box 6490 as SAT>IP device in NextPVR?

Thank you very much for any hint.

Best regards,
Peter

Try scanning, then attach your logs. I'll check what's happening.

Are the channels using rtsp urls? NextPVR currently only pays attention to http/https/udp urls in a m3u file.

Thank you very much for your support. I'll start responding to this hint first:

In fact, the FRITZ!Box 6490 deals with rtsp urls like:

#EXTINF:0,Das Erste
#EXTVLCOPT:network-caching=1000
rtsp://192.168.0.1:554/?avm=1&freq=338&bw=8&msys=dvbc&mtype=256qam&sr=6900&specinv=1&pids=0,16,17,18,20,100,101,102,103,104,105,106,2070,2171

Is there anything I can do?

Best regards,
Peter

Besides the option of adding rtsp urls in an m3u file to the IPTV device, I could also directly scan the four tuners provided for the FRITZ!Box 6490 device. However, I do not know whether this will make any difference, i.e. whether the scanning is an alternative method of collecting a list of rtsp urls...

The provided scan settings do not match the channel setup of my cable operator. Does anybody know as how to create a new scan setting with the required parameters?

Tuning data is in .ini files at Program Files\NextPVR\Data\Tuning (on Windows) ... There are folders for DVB-T and DVB-C

You can create your own .ini file by copying and changing an existing file.

If you are still having problems ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help ... Thank you.

We know from his other thread yesterday that he runs on docker so the location and file naming is different. It does help to place support posts in the proper sub-forum to help us support you

I did check yesterday and dvb-c/de-Kanal-Deutschland hasn't changed since 2014

This is SAT>IP, so uses the NextPVR ini files for scanning, not the linux tv tuning files.

Your frequencies and symbol rate seem to largely match the 'All Countries/All Frequencies (6.900MBd SR, QAM 256)' option.

Can you try scanning that option, and post your logs?
