prevent recording on multi channels

Hi

some nights ago I switched from ArgusTV to NextPVR.
As far as I can see, everything works fine.
BUT: I have 1 obvious problem. If an episode (or a movie) is on multiple channels in parallel (in Germany/Austria/Switzerland we have the same provider) it will be recorded 3 times.
How can use only the channels in a special channel group?
My recordings are of type "advanced" with "any channel" but opening the combobox shows only my channels. But recording is really on _any_ channel

I hope someone understands what I mean and has a solution...

You can merge channels.  Try ... Settings -> Channels -> Advanced Tools -> Auto Merge ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/add...t-channels

I did this already. The problem is, that the Channels have different names (RTL <--> RTL Austria <--> RTL Switzerland) and so the auto-merge cannot fix this.
For now (until the next channel scan) I deleted the *Austria and *Switzerland channels => problem hopefully solved ;-)

Maybe try to rename them first using the wrench icon and then merging.

I did this already. The problem is, that the Channels have different names (RTL <--> RTL Austria <--> RTL Switzerland) and so the auto-merge cannot fix this.

You can change the name of a channel at Settings -> Channels -> Spanner ... The Auto Merge should work if you change all of the channels to have the same name.

this sounds all like a hook.
the best solution would be if the recordings could be fixed to a channel group. NOT all channels...
hopefully nextpvr will have this feature (which ArgusTV already has for years!)

If they are are all the same channel why not merge them? It doesn't sound like a hack to me. Recording form a group of channels isn't a bad idea but NextPVR has been around for a long time too and this isn't a high priority feature and it is impacts on many clients too.

literally they are not the same. The belong to the same station but are made for different countries. Most of the time the are running the same movies/shows but you cannot be that sure.
is the a chance to get the source code? maybe I can implement the channel group filter by myself...

I don't know why the avoid duplicates logic isn't working on any channel advanced recordings, sounds like the data on each channel is slightly different but the rule is capturing different channels. It would be best to duplicate the issue and send your logs ideally with the verbose logging turned on so we can see you advanced rule.

ok - so here we go with logs in normal state. If you can tell me how to enable verbose logging I will do so and come back with some logs tomorrow.
btw: the highest number of the same movies recorded was 6! each file name numberes from blah-0.ts up to blah-6.ts :-D
