He wasn't sure if it worked correctly yet until I tested it.

I've send him email with the results, I imagine he will have it back up for you to download when he gets a chance.

You will need to put this statement in your config.xml file:

<AutoDetectEncoder>false</AutoDetectEncoder>

So the new DLL and that statement in your config.xml (inside the settings tags) worked for me.

One test I failed to perform was multiple records, either with a schedule and then while watching.. But both worked fine. Just wanted to drop that on ya.

Thanks again sub! Your awesome!

Hi,

I just wanted to tell you that I had gbpvr (pvr150 & XCard) running for several months and I am happy with it.

I often read sub's statements that gbpvr is multi-tuner-ready.

So I decided to add a second pvr150 to my box (which is called "Mr. Data").

After having had a full working PVR for several months the odyssey started last night:

* turn off (and of course forgotten to back up the gbpvr folder ... hey, I'm only adding a tuner card, so what? )

* add pvr150 #2

* What? No drivers to install? Windows added it to the device list silently.

* Telling gbpvr to add it to the list of capture sources (as device #2).

GBPVR STOPS WORKING PROPERLY. ARGGGHHH!

Cards are reported to record, but nothing is done. Zero file length. Strange error messages. Even program crash.

* First beer. Cool down. Try to uninstall one of the cards (which leads into reboot of the system, at the end windows adds the card to the device list again).

* Panic-stricken trying to remove either of the cards from the list of capture sources, even both. Exchange the cards (Slot 1 / Slot 2), reinstall hauppage driver and software, ... nothing helped!

* Second beer.

* in the meantime I somehow managed to loose my database (perhaps by removing both cards from the list of capture sources), so all recordings are now only available via "video library"

* Third beer.

* Checking the gbpvr forum (incredible slow via normal modem). Found some threads of people with similar problem.

* Finding sub's patch for NativeUtilities.dll and the config.xml hack. Having no hope for it. Installing the patch.

* Forth beer.

PBPVR WORKS AGAIN!!!! JIPEEHH!

Thank you sub! Thank you so much!

So I'm happy again with Mr. Data except the fact that I lost my database data.

Is there any way to repair my database (perhaps from a backup I did in the middle of the odyssey, before the data was lost)?

Any help appreciated.

Greeting, Alex

Hi guys,

I'm having similar problems with my system. I'm running GBPVR on a Via sp13000 board with a PVR-500 TV card. I get no live tv (black screen) and 0 byte recordings. Am trying to get it running using the cyberlink codec. The card is running fine and detects channels in GBPVR (although you can't actually see anything on the preview screen when the tuning process is taking place).

Is that patch still available?? I'd like to give it a try. Am really keen to get my pvr up and running as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Alun

That patch is no longer required. The main release now has this patch built in.

When you setup your device, you created two capture sources, one for device #1 and one for device #2 right?

I did indeed. Still no live tv though. Have previously used the PVR-500 card on another computer and it worked fine.

Reproduce the problem then send your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look. Include a description of what you did, and a link back to this post.
