Hi guys,

Thanks again for the great forum and PVR system!

In my living room I use an Apple TV and havent had much luck with the NextPVR app. Is it possible to expose an M3U and XML file from NextPVR that I can feed into another front end app like iPlay TV?

Thanks, Mark

You can get an m3u out of it using:
http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.m3u

For this to work though, you need to have ticked 'Allow unauthenticated access for streaming Live TV / Recordings' on the Settings->Access page.

I've added a http://localhost:8866/service?method=channel.xmltv for the next build, which will enable you to get listings as well.

When I try exposing the m3u I am getting this error:

This page contains the following errors:
error on line 1 at column 1: Document is empty

Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

I am using this URL: http://192.168.1.20:8866/service?method=channel.m3u

Am I doing something wrong?

Never mind, everything works well now. I opened the URL using VLC Smile

How can the list be exported with the categories as well? At the moment is showing a long list of channels, and the categories are removed.

Channels can be in multiple groups in NextPVR (and always are if coming from a physical tuner). The m3u format only allows for a single group, so NextPVR doesn't bother trying to populate this.

Apologies to revise an old thread, this link doesn't seem to work anymore. is there a new url format to grab the xmltv?
