I have restarted several times and tried doing everything in different orders at different times. Still getting the same error messages.

Sorry really don’t know anything much about this ceton proxy.

I don't know the Ceton Proxy but I can help with the Ceton Extra if you are game. Otherwise HDHR Prime devices aren't typically that expensive on ebay and DCR 2650 are even cheaper.

Sub: Ok, thanks so much for looking into this. I appreciate your time and help.
Martin: What is the Ceton Extra? I'm game to try anything. If this fails, then I will probably just look into getting the HDHomeRun. I appreciate your help as well. I can tell both of you invest a lot of time into helping people on this forum.

The Ceton Extra uses SageTV's OpenDCT method for reading DCT devices like the Ceton https://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62774
It is much more complicated then the Ceton Proxy but should be stable when working, I'd only use it if you really can't figure out how to use the Ceton proxy on your own. I outlined the install steps here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid533059 You can ignore most of the thread, it is basically how to follow those instructions. Also make sure you follow this guide on installing python for NextPVR https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/install-python Martin

I installed Python per instructions but I can't seem to get it to work. I keep getting a bunch of syntax errors and the program seems inconsistent. Typing the same command "python -v" gives me an invalid syntax error 90% of the time and the other 10% it actually does something.

The instruction don't say anything about python -v it is a capital V

Thanks for the clarification. That was difficult to tell it was a capital V.

True I will change it --version which is clearer.
Martin.

The link to download opendct appears broken. I downloaded it from another source and unzipped it to the scripts folder but "python opendct.py DISCOVERY" times out when entered.
