Installed Java, got the Opendct service running but the command line "python opendcr.py DISCOVERY" is still timing out.

Tried running the other commands and got "WinError 10061 No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.""

Do you run any firewall or antivirus blocking the connection? That could be your issue with Ceton Proxy too.

I do not. Never run any of that stuff.

As I noted earlier did you try with the command line that is explained on github and does that show any errors?
Also does python opendct.py VERSION respond with the version from the server on localhost? That is the basic test. When you run python opendct.py DISCOVERY if you see the following is a valid response, from the first server, it is timing out looking for other servers. Code: [D:\python\opendct]python opendct.py DISCOVERY Martin

Yes, I followed the instructions from github and did not get any errors from that.
The python opendct.py VERSION just came up with the error. It did not come up with any of that info. Just to be sure, where am I supposed to be entering that code? I'm assuming I am doing that from the CMD prompt logged in as an administrator, but I have tried that in other areas as well such as in python and it did not seem to work there either. If anything, this has told me that it is going to be easier to trash this TV tuner and get a HDHomeRun or other similar product if I want to upgrade to Windows 10/11. This seems pretty complicated and a lot of extra programs to install and I don't want to have to do it again when I build a new computer. I really do appreciate your time and efforts. You've been very helpful. Is there somewhere I can tip you for your time?

When you ran the OpenDCT console instead of the server did you get any text messages in a console windows (with the service itself disabled) after you tell it to run wrapper? That is the start and it should detect your Ceton devices with. Personally I am surprised that Sage TV users have no problems installing OpenDCT. They even need it for HDHR and IPTV devices. To be fair to them I just ran the MSI yesterday and it just worked for me.
I probably would just have run python as a user since that is how we installed in. I did recommend the HDHomerun that is a tip to remember Martin.

I attached a copy of a screen shot of what the console does when run with the service off. For some reason it won't let me expand the window to view all of it. It says nothing about Ceton on there. Maybe running the CetonProxy first is what is messing this up since it is trying to look for HDHomeRun devices?
That is a useful tip about the HDHomeRun. but I was asking more about where I could compensate you for your time.

I do see Ceton IP in there, but I also see Java errors what version of Java are you using I would try 12 or even 8 before 17.
OpenDCT does detect HDHR devices that is how I test this but you can ignore that. I don't need anything this is my hobby but when you start using NextPVR consider donating to sub. Martin

Ok, I will try uninstalling Java 17 and try 12 instead.
