DVB-T closed captions no longer displayed

I've just upgraded to v5.2.3.211114 from a version released earlier this year and found that DVB-T closed captions are no longer being displayed.

I live in Australia and we have teletext closed captions embedded in our broadcast streams.

While NextPVR identifies that the CC stream is available (English, code page 801) in the Ctrl-X menu, no closed captions are displayed after activating them from the menu.

This seems like it could be a regression. Logs attached.

I tested the recordings in VLC and it was able to display the subtitles, so they are present and correct.

"DVB Subtitles" are currently working.

About a week ago an Australian user pointed out that "Teletext Subtitles" are not working. I've fixed this for the next release.

Thanks, sub. Now that I know what to search for, I found the reported issue (and your responses) in the recent Channel 9 (Sydney) thread.

When do you think you'll be able to make the release?

By the way, is there a way to render the subtitles using a custom font face? Teletext subtitles are not particularly attractive to look it... and other media players such as MPC-BE can use system-installed fonts.

Is there any chance you could provide an updated library or component to fix the issue ahead of the next release? I've got a few users who like to read subitles during playback. If not, I'll try to 'downgrade' from another system not yet updated.

Sub .. I think that subtitles are colour-coded to match the speaker, hope that is retained. From memory it was a big fail in VLC where there are not (that was earlier this year)

Yeah, they're still color coded, like they were in the past.

Teletext subtitles were broken a couple of releases ago when changed graphics rendering technology.
