I'm confused - are you using XMLTV or SD? You were saying you were using XMLTV / Zap2It, and now you're saying you're using SD. If you did send me an xmltv file, it sounds like you're not using xmltv?

Missing artwork for news shows would be normal for xmltv, since themoviedb / tvmaze doesn't typically have artwork for these types of shows.

With SD you'll likely get artwork with all shows. Some of these less common shows may be fairly simple generic pictures with the show name.

Your example xmltv file arrived. Do you have a version that has real artwork urls, not via some local proxy on your network?

If I can get a real sample file I can test against, with artwork urls that work, I can see if I can implement changes to help use that artwork. Otherwise I've got no way to test it - none of the xmltv files in this part of the world have artwork urls.

So I mapped my matching M3U to use SD to get the EPG and art. This did work for awhile but no longer does.

Correct, it does not. (used to, code now disabled).

I am willing to add some experimental support for this (slightly modified version of that disabled code), however I need an example file I can work from, which has artwork. Otherwise I have no way to test that functionality.

Then do an 'Empty EPG' followed by an 'Update EPG', then see if it helps with the SD artwork. You'd also need to any unwanted files from C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\media\shows to get it to re-download artwork for those shows.

I did delete
\NPVR-data\media\shows

and I did 'Update EPG', BUT I didn't 'Empty EPG' first.. I will try those again now

I just:

      got an OK response
2. deleted \NextPVR\media\shows\*
   
3. 'Empty EPG' followed by
   
4. 'Update EPG'

You might need to supply me your complete nrecord.log, so I can see what happened when it logged into SD etc.
